When Can You Come?
Pottery is our passion, not our job. We both work 8–5, so classes are scheduled based on availability. In summer, we’re generally open for bookings any day between 9 AM and 6:30 PM, including weekends!

We don’t run a formal calendar—just send a few dates and times that work for you or your group, and we’ll go from there! (Check Instagram @whimpottery or Facebook under Megan Fitts for schedule updates.)

How to Book
You just did it! Email (whimpotteryms@gmail.com) some dates and times that work for you and we'll figure it out from there.

Session Details
No prepay. No cancellation fees. No time limits. Once you're here, the time is yours (unless we have another group after you—which only happens on busier Saturdays).

Group Size

  • Combo class (wheel + hand-building): 2–8 people ($65 per person).

  • Hand-building only: Up to 16 ($40 per person).

  • Wheel only – 5-10 people per session. ($45 per person).

  • Specialty classes may be posted to introduce seasonal themes. Those may have various pricing. Check the social media or ask!

  • Hosting a bigger event or offsite gathering? We’ve done up to 25—just ask!

Food & Drink
We’ve got bottled water. Feel free to bring snacks or a drink (adult beverages welcome if you're of age), but we have found most people are too busy playing with clay to eat!
Unfortunately, since we are a pottery garage…. we don’t provide plates or cups, so come prepared if you're bringing anything.

The Process:

Whether you work on just the wheel, hand build, or both in a session, the pieces will have to dry at least 12-14 days. We will bisque fire the pieces for you for the 24 hour process. Then we will glaze the pieces for you based off a discussion we have in class with you during the session. We will then final fire the pieces for you for the next 24 hours and then box or bag it all up with your name on it and put it on the front porch of our house for you to pick up at your convenience.

Where’s the Shop?
It’s our converted garage—nothing fancy, but full of charm and creativity. Heated, cooled, and stocked with artsy vibes.

We’re off Hwy 51 between Madison and Gluckstadt. Once we book, we’ll send the address.

Just drive slow—we love our neighbors. 😊

I'll send the exact address in the confirmation correspondence we have,  once you get it here's what to do:

Pull into the drive way, go past the house, onto the gravel road and around the fenced in pool. You will see a second, detached garage. The door to come inside is on the left. We will be inside waiting. Park anywhere down on the grass or gravel by the shop. I'd pull in and back into a space to where you can pull out easily because if it is a night class, it's dark and we have trees surrounding the shop.

Ready to get your hands in some clay?
Email us a few times that work, and we’ll make it happen!

How it Works

How it Works

Step 01

ARRIVING TO POTTERY CLASS

Arrive a few minutes prior to your appointment for pottery class. Drive up the driveway, past the garage doors, down the dirt road, around the pool and park anywhere in the grass by the garage/studio. The door to enter is on the LEFT of the building. We will be inside where it is air conditioned or heated.

Step 02

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING

We provide bottled waters. You are welcome to bring a beverage of your choice. Please wear comfortable clothes that you can get dirty. Everything washes out with water and will not stain. You MAY want to leave rings/jewelry/watches at home. Trim nails if possible.

Step 03

What you will do

You will make one piece on the wheel after watching a brief demo. Mr. Bill will then step you through the process and "assist" where you need him to help if you want his help. After making a piece on the wheel, you will move to a table and get creative by making either a mug, birdhouse or vase to start off with in the first class, or move up to a butter dish, pitcher, bird house, casserole dish, soap dish, etc.... You will pick textures and embellishments to add to your piece.

Step 04

The final pieces

Due to the unfortunate process of having to wait until the clay dries for at least 10-14 days before it can be bisque fired (24-hour process), then glazed, then final fired (24 hour process), we will contact you when you/your party's pieces are glazed and arrange for porch pick up or delivery if close by roughly two weeks after the class date. During the class we will give you options to choose from on the glaze you wish to have your piece fired with.
